Highlights of the Tour:
Shanghai Museum - Jade Buddha temple - old French concession - Yu Garden – Shanghai old street - the Bund - XinTianDi
Start the tour in the morning at Shanghai Museum (famous for its ancient Chinese art and cultural relics, especially bronzes, ceramics, calligraphy and paintings). Then visit the Jade Buddha Temple, known for its Qing dynasty jade Buddha (1882). We will walk in the French concession for a typical Shanghai lunch. In the afternoon, I will take you to the famous Ming dynasty Yu garden, and in the same area we can walk in Shanghai Old Street which is almost 1km long, and was the location of Shanghai’s first bank, with many tea houses, opera houses, and gold shops. Then we’ll stop by the Bund where you will see Shanghai’s world-renowned waterfront and the old English architectural style, and you can see the world’s tallest building (by roof) on the other side of the river. In the evening, you can relax in XinTianDi, the site of the first Chinese Communist party congress, and now Shanghai’s most popular nightlife district with many bars and restaurants, and up-market shopping. (All destinations and itineraries flexible and open to discussion.)
